Pakistan has about 150 Dams and the country is looking forward to the establishment of another water reservoir, known as the Bhasha dam. The Bhasha dam is constructed on the Indus river, near the Kohistan district. Bhasha Dam will be constructed in cooperation with the

The economic significance of the Bhasha Dam
The Pakistan government signed a deal worth 442 billion PKR with Chinese officials. The prime minister thinks that the project must be performed locally while using local resources and skills, to create a large number of jobs within the country.
The creation of this dam will create at least 16,500 jobs, for the Pakistanis and it will uplift the socio-economy of the area. This project will be a huge blessing for the locals.
Museum in the basement of Bhasha Dam
The basement of this dam will turn into a museum. Pakistan has a rich cultural history like having remains of the ancient Indus valley civilization. Therefore, the museum will mainly include the remains of ancient civilizations.
Chinese are fond of Gandhara art and civilization. This project is a joint investment with the Chinese government. As a result, the management is planning to decorate with a hint of Gandhara civilization.
The Chinese government will provide all the necessary assistance. The goal is to attract a huge audience. So, It will gain national and international tourism in Pakistan.
Aim and function of the Bhasha Dam
Firstly, the bhasha dam is going to be able to store an extra 10.5 cubic kilometers of water. so, that the locals will get extra clean water to drink. The dam will store 7.9 cubic kilometers, of water per year for irrigational purposes.
Secondly, the number of trees in the surrounding areas of the dam will increase. More trees will result in lesser chances of floods. Thus, the harsh effects of climate change will decrease.
Thirdly, this dam will produce 4500 megawatts of electricity per year. WAPDA is responsibly managing this project. This much amount of electricity will be enough for the locals.

The construction of the Bhasha dam will provide 16500 jobs to the local population. It will increase the number of trees in the areas nearby. It will reduce global warming.
This dam alone will store extra 10.5 cubic kilometers of water per year. So, the locals will get extra clean water to drink. The dam will store an extra 7.9 cubic kilometers of water per year for irrigational purposes.
