Jamal Khashoggi’s death has become one of the most mysterious incidents of the time. The senior Saudi Arabian journalist, Khashoggi, was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on 2nd October. His death mystery has not been solved yet and investigations are still underway.
With all the international pressure, Saudi Arabia has still not been able to provide the world with a satisfactory answer.
Now, presidential adviser Yasin Aktay, who is a top Turkish official gave out the statement that it is likely that Jamal Khashoggi was immediately killed after he entered the consulate to settle his marriage documents. Later his body was cut into pieces and they were dissolved in acid so that no clue would be left behind.
There is no proof behind these statements as well and are general views of the Turkish official as he believes that Khashoggi’s body could not disappear in thin air unless it would be dissolved in acid.
Talking to the Hurriyet Daily Newspaper, that it appears that not only Khashoggi’s body was dismembered but was also completely dissolved. Khashoggi’s fiancé, Hatice Cengiz, also said that the perpetrators shall be brought to justice.
However, now the Saudi Crown Prince’s views on Khashoggi have also made headlines. Prince Salman called White House and held talks with national security adviser John Bolton and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner on 9th October. The Prince who had claimed Khashoggi a dangerous Islamist said in the call that he was a member of Muslim Brotherhood. He also urged the state to preserve alliances.
However, not only Khashoggi but his family has also denied his being a member of Muslim Brotherhood.
Saudi Arabia has denied all such claims from royal family and says it is determined to find the truth behind the death. Saudi Arabia has changed its stance on the death of Khashoggi’s death.
Turkey claims to have an audio recording where it is revealed that the victim was first tortured and then killed.
18 arrested suspects from within the consulate will be convicted in Saudi Arabia.
France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said Khashoggi’s death is a “crime” and is “odious”. Even when France threatened Saudi Arabia to impose sanctions, Saudi Arabia did not give a positive response.
