Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church and the sovereign of the Vatican City, has recently blamed the west for the death of the children in Middle East. The death of the children is a major issue that is revolving around us nowadays. It is estimated that nearly 61 million children have already been affected by war in war-stricken countries. The total child population of the world is 166 million.

It is reported that every one out of three children is affected due to the indirect impact of war. These are: hunger, starvation, lack of access to proper medication, health facilities, proper sanitation and the denial of aid. In February, a survey was conducted by the Children Right Organization ‘Save the Children’ that claimed that nearly 85,000 children had died in Yemen due to starvation since the war in Yemen has escalated. Still, millions of children in war zones have been waiting for humanitarian aid and proper medication and food.

Pope Francis blames the West for causing the war in the Middle East

On Saturday 6 April 2019, Pope Francis arrived at the San Carlo Institute of Milan in front of students and teachers. Speaking to them, Pope Francis said that the United States and Europe are selling weapons in war zone areas. He blamed that they are fueling the wars causing the victims in Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan.

He further said that the reasons of the wars around the world are that the West is selling weapons. These weapons are then used to kill people and children because without weapons, such countries like Afghanistan, Syria, and Yemen could not survive at war. He added that a country that produces and sell weapons has on its conscience the death of every child and the destruction of each family. It is us that makes a difference.

Pope Criticized Politician

Pope Francis also spoke out in defense of immigration and condemns the politician for building walls. He said, “Builders of walls, be they made of Razors, wire, and bricks, will end up becoming prisoners of the walls they build“. This comment seems to call out Donald Trump’s proposal for building a wall along the US-Mexico Border. However, he did not mention any of the politicians by name nor did he mention the president of US.

Pope spoke about Migrants

Pope also spoke about the need for countries to welcome migrants and co-operate with them. He invalidated the crime concerns that government uses to Justify denying entry of the migrants. Pope said that Foreigners are not the cause of most of crimes because we also have a lot of them. He further said that Migrants bring us wealth and Europe has been made by migrants. All of us have the possibility of being a criminal.
