0

The smartphone industry has become incredibly vast and different smartphone manufacturers are competing with amazing new features. Samsung and Apple have always been on the top of the best smartphones, going neck to neck but there are other companies like the OnePlus and Huawei which have now started to dominate the market. Huawei flagship smartphones have given serious competition to both Samsung and Apple.

We have the 5 best smartphones categorized depending on their design, performance, camera, screen quality, and internal components.

Which are the 5 best smartphones?

Lets see which smartphones have made it to the 5 best smartphones list!

1. Apple iPhone XS/XS MAX

Well, Apple had to top on our 5 best smartphones picks! The iPhone XS and XS MAX have the same specifications apart from the screen size and battery. The XS has a 5.8-inch screen and 2658 mAH battery whereas the XS Max has a 6.5-inch screen and 3174 mAh battery. The smartphone is equipped with a 12 MP dual camera (equipped with portrait lighting mode for low light) and 7 MP front camera. Equipped with the Apple A12 Bionic CPU and 4 GB RAM the XS becomes the fastest and smoothest phone currently out there in the market.

The display of the XS/XS Max is fantastic having a resolution of 1125×2436 / 1242×2688 pixels. The sleek design and build quality of the iPhone XS/XS Max gives it the edge over the other smartphones. The only drawbacks are that there is nothing impressive about the battery and that it costs around $1000/$1100.

2. Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The best phone in terms of the hardware specifications. The only reason that it comes second to the XS/XS Max is the ultra-desirability of the iPhone in terms of its design. You can do almost anything with the Galaxy note 9 in your hand. It has a brilliant 6.4 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. 6 GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 makes the phone incredibly fast. It is equipped with a 12 MP dual rear camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera.

The S Pen digital stylus is a wonderful upgrade that works rather superbly. The 4000 mAH is competitive but does not stand out. The Bixby AI assistant still needs a lot of work to replace the google assistant. Note 9 has also joined the $1000 club with the iPhone but the money is worth it when it comes to the experience of using the smartphone. All having been said, the Galaxy Note 9 is the best android smartphone in the world.

3. Huawei P20 Pro

The triple camera flagship smartphone from Huawei is something that is seen as an alternative to the iphone XS and the Galaxy S9. The phone itself is premiumly built and attractive. It has an amazing triple rear camera (40MP+20MP+8MP Leica) and a 24 MP front-facing camera.  It has a Kirin 970 processor and 6 GB RAM. The 4000 mAH battery works pretty well but the 6.1-inch screen is only HD (1080×2244 pixels) which does not stand out as compared to Note 9 and XS. Another major drawback is Huawei’s UI which lags behind the competitors. Apart from its flaws, the smartphone has impressive results and has been placed at 3.

4. Samsung Galaxy S9

The Galaxy s9 is one of our picks in 5 best smartphones! It is a brilliant phone which was outshone by the note9. The amazing design and 5.8 inch infinity edge display which covers 84% of the body. The 4 GB RAM along with the Exynos 9810 Octa processor is pretty decent and makes the s8 unparalleled. The s9 is one of the best looking, compact phone which is very impressive in performance. The problem is that it is not so different from its predecessor, the s8. If you are looking for a bigger phone, the s9+ packs a massive 6.2 inch display. Bixby AI assistant does not compete with the google assistant and hence makes it a drawback for the s9. Apart from the minor flaws, the s9 still stands out as the brilliant performing galaxy s-series device.

5. Google Pixel 2 XL

The Google Pixel 2 is among the 5 best smartphones. Not only it lags behind the iphone, Huawei and Samsung because they have a better design. Apart from that, it is difficult to choose which smartphone would make it to the top. The Pixel 2 XL is incredibly fast and responsive with its 4 GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It has a superb 12 MP camera that can take breath-taking photos.

Google software is one of a kind and has no parallel. The software and virtual assistant work together beautifully and makes the using experience one of a kind. The 6-inch display with 1440×2880 pixel resolution is not disappointing either. The 3520 mAH battery gives a good battery time as well. The only problem is with the plastic-like metal body which brings the google pixel to the 5th number. However, looking at the pixel 2 XL, it seems that Google has really got a grip on its flagship phones and we will be seeing even better phones in the future.
